Ross Allan Farbo, age 76 of Onalaska, formerly of Hustler passed peacefully at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, on January 13th, 2025.

Born November 9, 1948, in Mauston, WI to Allan and Leone (Hoff) Farbo. Ross was a 1966 graduate of New Lisbon high school. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from UW-La Crosse. Ross served in the US Air Force from 1968 to 1974 and volunteered to serve twice in Viet Nam.

He worked at Walker Stainless in New Lisbon, Best Power Technology in Necedah, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and finally in communications at Fort McCoy, where he retired in 2012.

On October 23, 1971, he was united in marriage to Rita Schulz at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic church in Necedah, WI.

Ross enjoyed sailing, downhill skiing, biking, farming, and amateur radio.

He is survived by his wife, Rita, daughters, Tera (Eddie) Malmstrom, Tracy Willard (Nate Younger) and Trisha (Scott) Sawyer, his sister Louise Schulz (Ben Hemenway), brother David (Jackie) Farbo, grandchildren, Kade Farbo, Kasen, Karey and Kallan Edgerton, Tayler and Traci Malmstrom and Aubriella and Alayna, Ben and Josh Willard and Reid, Ryan and Olivia Sawyer as well as nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceding him in death are his parents, niece Carey Schulz and sister Judy Myers.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 25th, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. at the New Lisbon City Community Center with Military Honors to follow.  Relatives and friends are invited to the service and the celebration of life following the service until 2:00 P.M.  Gina Klean presiding.  The Hare Funeral Home in New Lisbon is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences are available at www.harefuneralhome.com
