Mauston Girls Whip Westby Behind Lavolds Big Game

The Mauston girls started out their week with a 76-49 victory over Westby with another hot night from behind the arc and at the free throw line
making ten 3 point baskets and shooting 90% from the free throw line going 9 for 10 on the night.
Caitlin Lavold led all scorers as she continued her strong February with a new personal best of 22 points to go along with 4 rebounds, 6 steals and 5 assists.
Kylie Heller knocked down 18 points and had 6 rebounds, 4 steals and 4 assists and
Ella Franek contributed 14 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals and 3 assists. Mauston again had 7 girls score on the night.
They head to Black River Falls Tuesday night for another non-conference game before finishing the week and the regular season against Wautoma on Thursday as they get ready for tournament play starting on February 28th at home.

Group Effort Leads Hillsboro Girls Past Brookwood

The Hillsboro Tigers girls basketball team used a team effort to breeze by Brookwood 69-41 Thursday night. Four Tiger players reached double digits in the victory. Michelle Hora & Carmen Erickson each had 16points to lead the way while Lauren Woirol & Michelyn Hansen each added 10points. Hillsboro trailed early 7-2 but then went on a 13-0 run to seize control of the game and never look back. Brookwood was led by Reagan Muehlenkamp who finished with 20points. Hillsboro improves to 15-7 on their season and 9-4 in the Scenic Bluffs Conference. Brookwood drops to 6-17 and 3-10 in the conference.

Hot Start Lifts Bangor Boys by New Lisbon

The Bangor Cardinals got off to a fast start and never looked back in an 81-53 victory over New Lisbon Tuesday night in Scenic Bluffs Boys Basketball action. Bangor had early leads of 10-0 and 20-2, the Rockets got back within 13 but that was the closest they would get. Brock Bores had a career high 22points for Bangor while Eli Tucker added 16points. Austin Berndsen led New Lisbon with 18points while Carter Pfaff added 11. New Lisbon drops to 4-7 in the conference and 6-12 overall. Bangor improves to 8-3 in the conference and 8-11 overall.
Mauston Girls Blast Adams-Friendship with Hot Shooting

The Mauston girls handled things Tuesday night as they went 10-19 from beyond the 3 point arc and cruised to a 81-41 win at Adams=Friendship.
Transition basketball was on display with multiple run outs leading to Bre Heller topping all scorers with 25 points, 8 assists, 5 steals and a block.
Caitlin Lavold was close behind putting up a career high 20 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals. Kylie Heller added 12 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals and 1 block.
Ellie Pouille finished the night with 9 points and 8 rebounds. Mauston had 8 different girls score on the night in a true team effort.
Next up is a trip to Westfield on Friday night.

Royall Derails La Farge in Girls Basketball

The Royall Panthers girls basketball team used suffocating defense and a team effort on offense to blowout La Farge 59-27 Monday night. 3 players scored in double figures for the Panthers led by Bria Gruens 20points, Elizabeth Klipstein added 11 and Layla Mart notched 10points. 7/8 players scored for the Panthers who had minutes in the game. La Farge struggled to break Royall’s backcourt pressure and trailed Royall 32-10 at halftime. Royall improves to 7-14 on their season while La Farge drops to 0-19.
