Wonewoc-Center Softball Season Ends vs Seneca

The Wonewoc-Center Wolves softball season came to an end Wednesday evening falling to Seneca 7-3 in a WIAA D5 Regional Semi-Final.  Wonewoc-Center had a 1-0 lead going into the 6th inning but Seneca erupted for 7 runs over the final two frames to garner the victory.  Kelsey Justman went 2×4 while Bryn Ertel went 1×2 with an RBI for Wonewoc-Center in the loss.  Seneca was led by Raya Wallin who went 3×4 with 3RBI’s.  Wonewoc-Center finishes their season with a 9-9 record.  Seneca improves to 10-11 and moves on to take on Ithaca in a Regional Championship game.

Local Track & Field Results from Regionals

The New Lisbon Track and Field teams competed Monday night at the Regional Track Meet in Cashton, WI alongside 12 other schools.  The girls team finished in 6th place and the boys team brought home the Regional Championship finishing in first place.

Finishing in the top four in their events and earning a trip to the Sectional Meet in Bangor Thursday are:

Jameson Barker with a first place finish in 110 hurdles and a first place finish in the 300 meter hurdles setting a new school record with a time of 41.62.

Beavers Dam Mauston in Baseball Action

The Reedsburg Beavers soundly defeated Mauston 12-2 in 5 innings Friday evening in a non-conference WIAA baseball game.  Reedsburg had an 8 run 2nd inning to help ease by the Golden Eagles.  Jack Fenwick went 3×3 with 3RBIs for the Beavers while Luke Verch went 1×2 with 2RBI’s and picked up the victory on the mound.  Brady Baldwin and Carson Wall each went 1×2 for Mauston in the loss.  Mauston falls to 16-4 on their season; Reedsburg improves to 19-2.  Mauston will host Baraboo for Senior night on Monday.

Mauston Wraps Up Outright SCC Baseball Title

The Mauston Golden Eagles Baseball team clinched an outright South Central Conference Championship by taking down Adams-Friendship 15-5 in 6 innings Thursday evening.  Mauston took advantage of 2 big Green Devils errors and walks to score their first 9 runs of the game on just two hits. One of those hits was a big one a 3 run double by Brady Baldwin that gave Mauston a 4-0 lead in the 2nd inning.  Mauston would add at least a run in every inning the rest of the way to earn the victory.  Baldwin had 5RBI’s from the leadoff spot for Mauston.  Andrey Tougas added a 2 run triple for Mauston in the 6th inning.  Isaac Steinke picked up the victory on the mound for Mauston who improves to 16-3 on their season and finishes conference play with a 9-1 record.

Track & Field Results

Mauston boys won 2024 SCC Conference meet.  Eli Hallwood broke a 40 year old conference championship record in the pole vault with a vault of 14-1.

The Mauston girls finished in 4th place.

New Lisbon Track & Field Top Finishers at SBC Championship Meet

The New Lisbon Track and Field team competed Tuesday at the Scenic Bluffs conference meet at Royal.  The boys team finished 3rd and the girls team finished 4th.  New Lisbon’s Conference Champions were
