Royall Boys Roll Over Ithaca in a Top10 Battle
The Royall Panthers Boys Basketball team opened up their season with a 72-38 thrashing of #8 Ithaca Tuesday night. Royall got a game high 30points from Senior Carter Uppena in the victory. Royall led 38-22 at halftime and was extremely strong defensively in the 2nd half. It took Ithaca 6mintues to score a 2nd half point. Trey Wildes had 15points while Ben Crneckiy added 11points for the Panthers who are currently ranked #2 in D5. Devin Ihm & Sammy Clary each had 13 for the Bulldogs. Royall will travel to Seneca on December 3rd.

New Lisbon Uses Strong 2nd Half to Win Girls Basketball Game
The New Lisbon Rockets girls basketball team used a strong 2nd half to get their first win of the season, knocking off La Farge 53-40 Monday night. The two teams were tied at halftime but the Rockets used a strong 2nd half from Olivia Bunker and Arria Raese to secure the victory. Bunker and Raese each had 14points to lead New Lisbon. Allie Hare chipped in with 10points. La Farge got a game high 15points from Brielle Hansen. New Lisbon improves to 1-2 on the season; La Farge drops to 0-3.
New Lisbon Girls Basketball Doubled Up by Pittsville
The New Lisbon Girls basketball team was doubled up by Pittsville 56-28 Friday night. New Lisbon led early 3-0 and 5-3 but after that it was all Pittsville. The Panthers size and depth wore out New Lisbon. New Lisbon was led by Abby Steele who finished with 9points. Reese Grimm led Pittsville with 21points. New Lisbon falls to 0-2; Pittsville improves to 1-0.

Almond-Bancroft Stymies Mauston Girls Basketball
The Mauston Golden Eagles Girls basketball struggled offensively in a 49-42 loss to Almond-Bancroft on Thursday night. Mauston trailed 19-16 at halftime but took a 28-27 lead in the 2nd half. Almond-Bancroft went on a 13-1 run after the short lived Mauston lead to pull away for the victory. Mauston was led by Kylie Heller who finished with a team high 15points. Aaliyah Newby led all scorers with 17points for Almond-Bancroft. Mauston drops to 1-1 on the season and will travel to G-E-T Tuesday night for their next game. Almond-Bancroft improves to 1-0 on their season.

Lady Golden Eagles Ease By Royall in Basketball Opener
The Mauston Golden Eagles girls basketball team opened up their season with a 58-36 victory over Royall Tuesday night. Caitie Lavold led Mauston with 16points. It was a team effort by the Golden Eagles who also got 13points from Ella Franek and 11 from Bre Heller. Royall was led by Bria Gruens game high 18points while Layla Marty added 14. Mauston led 33-8 at halftime and coasted to the victory in the 2nd half. Mauston will host Almond-Bancroft Thursday night, a game that can be heard on SmashCountry92.9FM and WRJC.com.
Ingersoll, Marvin G. Age 89 of Adams
Marvin G. Ingersoll, 89, of Adams, Wisconsin, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at The Waterford at Colby in Colby, Wisconsin.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin, with Rev. John K. Stake officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Repose Cemetery in Friendship. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and continue until the service. Military honors will be rendered by the Adams County Honor Guard.
Marvin was born on April 19, 1935, in Marathon County, Wisconsin, to Kenneth and Edith (Dombrowe) Ingersoll. He was raised in Abbotsford, Wisconsin, and served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958. On July 26, 1958, he married Betty Damm in Stetsonville, Wisconsin. The couple welcomed their daughter, Deanna, in Abbotsford before relocating to Adams in 1959. Marvin enjoyed a career spanning over 30 years as a truck driver with Castle Rock Container, retiring in the mid-1980s.
Marvin was known for his love of horseback riding, deer hunting, and keeping a meticulous yard. He was a member of the Lutheran Church and the Adams VFW Post #6279.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Edith; his wife, Betty; his daughter, Deanna; and eight siblings. He is survived by nieces, nephews, extended family, and cherished friends, including Terrance Wagner and Cindy Kitchen.

Royall Bullies Bulldogs Advances to Sectional Volleyball Final
The Royall Panthers girls volleyball team is still alive in the post season after sweeping Ithaca 3-0 Thursday night. Royall got off to a fast start taking set one 25-21, Royall jumped out to an 11-2 lead before hanging on for the victory. Set 2 was much tougher Ithaca had set point leading 24-20 only to see Royall rally to tie it and take the set 28-26, Royall kept that momentum going taking set three 25-15 to win the match. Royall got big games from juniors Bria Gruen, Laya Wainwright and Liza Krueger. Royall improves to 17-16 on its season and will head to Almond-Bancroft Saturday night to battle Marshfield Columbus Catholic with a trip to state on the line.
